where do you see two parallel lines? what you see is two converging lines, they just haven't converged yet ... the voters decided it was close enough.
... and i agree ... close enough :) |

Morning Sentinels by mpetersComment by Monique64: Great photo but I personally like the other one better. I think it is because the path curves a bit and I also like the colour tones better. I love the mist and they are both great photos. |

Morning Sentinels by mpetersComment by mpeters: Originally posted by Cutter: Originally posted by kini62: While this is a very nice "scenic" photograph, I don't see how it fits in with the theme "vanishing point" any better than other shots that were commented on as not fitting in.
It has two parallel lines but they do not converge in this image, thus there is no vanishing point.

I have to agree. This does not represent a vanishing point at all. It's really too bad and quite frankly, very confusing. This is not a knock on you Mark, this is serious knock on the voters. |
No offense taken. I'm not 100% convinced myself(just 92.5%). I think I'll start a thread where it can be bandied about. ;) Message edited by author 2007-05-23 23:46:05. |

I'm not complaining I'm just trying to get a better understanding of what fits and what doesn't within the challenges.
So far, I've come to the early conclusion that there is no rhyme or reason. Kind of like it's all decided according to the chaos theory.
