My favorite place.by ChinhyukComment by neophyte: Seems very snapshot to me. Maybe if it were taken from a less obvious angle it could work. The colors and subject are good. |

My favorite place.by ChinhyukComment by Sherri1209: I really like the colors and the actual "coffee shop", but the image seems like a display -- would have rather seen a little less "set up" - Still the image is well done. |

The full moon...by ChinhyukComment by kena: I don't care for this picture that much but it's slightly more interesting because you used rule of thirds. |

People change like shoes.by ChinhyukComment by Pedro: *Critique Club*
Techniclly this photo is excellent. The lighting is solid and even, no nasty shadows or blown highlights. The focus is sharp, and the depth of field keeps the shoes in focus but separates them from a blurred background.
Compositionally it could use a little tweaking if you like to follow the rules. The rule of thirds suggests placing the focal point off-centre in your frame. If you were to draw tic-tac-toe lines over the image, the focal point should land on one of the 4 points where the lines intersect. It helps add context and balance to the image. of course rules can be broken, but in this case i think off-setting the shoes would add some interest, and give the viewer a better idea of where to look. Context (elements other than the subject itself) can provide a great deal of interest to a photo.
The comment Caine made below speaks to that idea as well. Zoom out a little and give the viewer more details to help finish off the idea...particularly in light of your title.
Overall it's a competent photo, but lacks a real message or WOW that will garner higher scores at DPC.
