wow Katherine...I love the pose and the stripe...this is a wonderful image...I admire your courage with snakes...unfortunately where we live they are all super poisonous Tiger snakes and brown snakes and the like. To have one as a pet would make me feel uneasy, though I have held snakes in the past...

The composition is nicely balanced and the background helps to make the subject pop. Just to make it cleaner I'd clone out those three bright spots near the left frame.
