The Boy Who Giggled So Sweetby gsalComment by dwterry: Okay, it's only my opinion, but... I just think this is the wrong way to go when doing selective desat. By making everything else color but the boy, you've lessened his importance in the picture. If it were a ball he was holding, or something he was wearing, any small subject related to him, it would work because you would immediately connect the in-color object to the person holding or wearing it, etc. In this case, all that happens is I see the color in the background and wonder what made the boy go b&w...
Anyway, like I said, it's my opinion. I'll still give you credit for a nice image of the kid - gotta love that smile! |

The Boy Who Giggled So Sweetby gsalComment by Artyste: Not often you see a reverse desat like this. Interesting choice, but not exactly sure why it was chosen. The photo itself doesn't really tell this story either. |

The Boy Who Giggled So Sweetby gsalComment by adine: I love the moment you captured here - lots of personality. I wish you had gone for black and white or two-tone - the desaturation of all but the green gives the green too much attention - when all attention should be on that shining face. I'd even darken the green before converting to gray scale - the white flowers would pop out a little more and the child's face would be like another flower in the grass. |
