Fantastic! I'd love to read more about how you achieve this look in your animal portraits. They're really terrific and you create such amazing texture (or allow it to shine through). Excellent.

I like the selective desat here - really makes the fawn stand out. Great detail & textures on her too. Not crazy about the border and the crop is a little tight, but the pic is terrific. ;-)

From the CTP MkII

First Impression: Very nice and mystical.

Composition: Really good, with FG making a diagonal through the BG.

Subject: very acurate for the challenge. It's difficult for me to think where you are, or what's exactly this, but it's very suitable for the challenge

Technical: Great tones, with two just two colors. Focus OK.

Improvement: a small part of the sky and of the statue is a bit blown up.

Summary: Really good shot. Congrats on your new Personal Best (We are also tied in PB...LOL). Good job.

Ãlex

Hi Richard,

I was glad that this had been validated by the time I got around to voting. It looks like something out of a comic book. The scene looks like there was quite a bit of NI action going on. It's not a bad thing, I think, just one of those things where I'm trying to figure out how things were done! The only thing I have to critique here is that I'm not crazy about the gray/green against purple. I don't object to the purple sky at all, but something about the color combination puts me off a little. That's the best I can come up with, heh! Nice work :-)

From ctp2:

I'm going to be perfectly honest here, so please don't hold it against me... I didn't like this shot all that much. It was too dark and eerie and maybe a little disturbing looking for my tastes. Maybe that was the effect you were going for, in which case you did a good job Ã. Everyone else seemed to love it, though. Congrats on the top finish!
Technically the composition and lighting are superb, and the subject is interesting, and meets the challenge. It has a very emotional feel to it. The composition is simple and to the point. Well done.
