no, this is one picture. the window is right behind that poster. that's the only reason i took this shot. i just stood in such an angle that gave this result. |

2by sevilduvarciComment by posthumous: This is about saying good-bye, but it's funny instead of sad. There is, after all, something freeing about loss. We are losing something that chained us to this world.
The exiting person is cropped in such a way that he seems like a one-legged acrobat defying gravity. He is also going against the "left to right" grain that is part of my culture, so that he seems to be ending through the beginning. He is also on top of the picture, defying gravity even more, and the bottom of the picture is dedicated to a road that is not being used. This fellow uses the road less traveled, and that has made all the difference.
Composition: a perfectly balanced geometry of lines. Foot touches down right in the middle of this photo's y axis. A perceived diagonal is achieved from the endpoints of the white lines in the road, going in the same direction as the diagonals in the sidewalk. The rest of your lines are perfect verticals and horizontals. What you have is a nice geometrical stage for your crazy acrobat.
I find this photo uplifting, hopeful, quirky, and laughing in the face of death. I find in it a bravery that I can use. |

4by sevilduvarciComment by Retroesque: Well you've won the prize for the image I've taken the most time to view in this side challenge - I just couldn't work it out - GRIN!
I LOVE the keep off the (gr)ass part, the wall next to it took some time to fathom.
I like it when photos make me think! |

2by sevilduvarciComment by Gnarf: i think this almost looks surreal. at first it looks like a man taking a long step forward. but when i look at it more it is like its a man with just one foot leaning on into the frame. i like the bend of the knee and the shoe. i find the lower part just a bit distracting, and i would personally tried a 3:4 crop or maybe even 1:1? Just some thoughts which could be completely wrong for the picture. |

I reckon in the world of DP Challenges this one might have done badly as I think the majority of people who score give no more than a quick once over to an image and this is definitely a shot that warrants more consideration |
