The composition is pretty good (although I think it's cropped a bit too tight at the top). These kind of shots though, really need to have the majority of the insect in the most focus. I'm not sure that you can get enough sharpness of the little guy to save this one. Try focusing on the part of the insect that you want most in focus (i.e., eyes, wings, etc.). Keep at it - it's taken me a LOOONG time to get even halfway decent with macros!

the colors are beautiful! I love the composition, simple and pleasing. The only problem is the focus on the "fly" which is kinda soft and a little over exposed on the twig. SOO hard to get everything in these situations where you don't have alot of time.

I like this one the best, Sherri..the focus is good at bottom and the individual droplets are interesting; also I like the shallow dof..the other two aren't as interesting to me.

The colouring in the photo seems a bit off to me. Maxwell's Silver Hammer appears gold on my monitor at work and at home. The still life is rather sparse to keep my interest peaked. JMO.
