My eyes are drawn to the blank space between the apple and the kitty. Perhaps a different angle on this shot would have brought definition to the "purpose" of the shot.

nice remake, I like the b&w and good sharpness on the apple. I'm wondering if a slightly deeper dof could have gotten your kitty's nose a little more in focus. also, for the dpc crowd, maybe cropping way in so that you have a square with just the kitty's face and partial neck and half the top of the apple might have done better. great capture though, I love the look in those eyes

Why do people expect you to Hoover your cat before you take a picture? The dusty bits make me think this cat is a bit of a scamp, and is always worming her way into impossible places.
