Downtown 3by phinbobComment by tsheets: I really like the reflections and textures in the reflections. The crop at the top feels a little cramped, and the direct clouds don't have a lot of detail..a little over-exposed. Overall, I like it, though. |

Downtown 3by phinbobComment by Elemmennope: Great reflections. The way the clouds in the background sky are placed, it almost looks like we're seeing through the building. |

In The Cloudsby phinbobComment by Jutilda: COOL reflection. The deep blue is so appealing to the eye. Reflective buildings are cool and this is no exception! |

New Shoesby phinbobComment by Jutilda: Greetings from the Critique Club!
This is a different take on the challenge, which is interesting and certainly suits it. I think it might've served you better and emphasized the shoe and hoof, had it been possibly a tighter shot of the actual horse shoe itself. As it is, it has a bit more of a snapshot sense to it and your eye follows around without a particular place to focus on. The light and shadow are a bit distracting from the subject that you were going for. I might've had the horse's hoof directly in front of me with the lens pointing down onto it with a stream of light directly on it to possibly get some shine off of the metal. It would still be apparent that it is a horse but the hind quarters of the animal itself are not necessary for the shot. The gloved hand could be an integral part as well, without it covering up the majority of the shoe. I hope you find these suggestions helpful. Best of luck in the future. From looking at your other photos, you certainly have the eye and the imagination to create some terrific shots!! Judy |

Lone Sentinentalby phinbobComment by sacredspirit: This picture is wonderful, I saw it in the comment chain, so I decided to voice my applause. I wonder if clouds in the thin whispy range would look good on this. I am not at all saying it would make it better, I just wonder. The way it stands is beautiful, I was just wondering if it would be possible to get more depth out of the background. |

Lone Sentinentalby phinbobComment by AzCKelly: I Like it!! Of course I am a bit partial living in Tucson and all. The only thing I would do is crop from the bottom leaving the chunk of jumping cactus at the bottom and the tip to the left of the saguaro. I may be new to photography but THAT is Sonoran Desert. |

Times Forgottenby phinbobComment by Neil: Very nice. It is perhaps a bit too high contrast--the clouds have posterized in the background. |

Lone Sentinentalby phinbobComment by rscorp: I like the composition of the image and the subject. There is still some detail to see in the cactus and foreground which is nice. Something about the sky bothers me, and I think it's the tone of the gray...it's a little flat and uninteresting, and the same color as much of the clouds. Maybe some more processing to separate those tones and make the sky pop from the image just a little more would make this good pic even better. |
