Great detail and DOF. Very interesting to look at because of the details.

After a lifetime of commitment to horses and dressage, I can easily appreciate the subject choice. As an amateur photographer, I'd prefer to see the horse moving into the picture rather than out of it (since the left provides no information or dynamic relevant to the subject, its direction or to composition). The ambient lighting is quite strong as well, beginning to eliminate detail from the (white) highlights. The image, to my taste, is ever so slightly over-sharpened.

The title, IMO, is somewhat assuming, given the level of experience or training evident from the rider's seat, position, balance and hands. The horse is not moving freely and without engagement of the hind quarters. The vertical line of the horse's head has fallen behind the bit. The reigns are held too short, too low and too wide apart to allow the horse any natural gaiting.

What I do like is the horse itself, the upright position of his ears, his conformation, the tangibly gleaming texture of his coat and a very satisfying display of detail in the midtones and shadows. The tail blowing in the breeze does not hurt the image either.

Wow, the focus on the horse and rider is awesome! Nice job on sky also. The only thing is that you should have cropped it so that the there's more space on the right if possible. Something moving to the right needs more space on the right. :) Probably nothing you could do about it I'm guessing.

Not a real choice here... I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed, but I have to say it: Queen takes bishop... there :)
Abt the picture, nothing to complain about, maybe a little bit more contrast

I like this image very very much but I don't think it is really enhanced by the use of selective desaturation. With the rider wearing black and white, she blends too much into the background instead of standing out with her horse. That being said, the compostion is great, I love your cropping, and the depth of field is nicely used. I think this would be stunning in color, if the grass is as green as it seems it might be.
