My bridgeby AbraComment by Ja-9: ahhh...see there I found it...for me this makes for a great candid/snapshot picture...it's a great family moment...I take it that is your son and he's so proud to pose for you...here is what I see that IMO could improve this (mind you it's JMO)this is where a fill flash/fill on your RAW processing comes in handy...it can tickle out the shadows around his face...which I would love to see better...your focus is good he just has the sun at his back and thus creates a strong shadow on his face...but on the other hand if you are going a Contre-jour style picture...I'd say you nailed it...sorry about missing you the first time around...my bad...and poor you, you get a very long winded comments...lol |

Supports in the style of James Reasonby AbraComment by dpurger: I don't know why, but I like this a lot. My first gut feeling was that cropping out the actual bridge at the top and leaving only the worn/stained concrete would've made the shot more mysterious while still keeping it obvious as to what your subject is (since you can still see the bridge through the opening of the first oval). Very cool! |

My bridgeby AbraComment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives : Super composition, love the lens flare and the catchlight in the helmet. I really enjoy the arches too and the way the white dashed line guides the eye along the full depth of the 'Z' axis. The boy himself is perfectly placed in the frame and offers an engaging subject.
As I look more, other features become more prominent, the shadow patter, the highlights catching the mesh of the fence.
Critical stuff: The structure is so well shown that the boy is a little lost - perhaps that was your intention? Some may prefer a tweaked edit to bring him out a bit more.
Overall: A very nicely made image. |

My bridgeby AbraComment by giantmike: Nice use of vanishing point to make this bridge seems like it extends forever. I also like the reflection off his helmet. |
