I rather liked this photo when I came across it in the voting. I think for the most part the culture reference was one that some might have not quite gotten.

As for that edit version. I'm fairly sure the flare would have DQed. BUT I personally like the smoothed out look of her face from that Smart Blur. A few fine tuning adjustments on this could have easy brought in a ribbon.

I believe that the flare, if it was added in PS, would have DQ'd this image. I didn't vote this challenge, but I really like your image. I suppose it is a little loose on the topic, but given the score its really not that bad. 15 out of 228 means you did something right :)

Thanks so much for all your comments! Some commented my entry was not very "affluent". On the hind sight, for the sake of learning, I have an alternate edit. Smart blur and Lens flare added.

If I've done it this way, would I have gotten higher marks? or would I been DQd?

Was this a scarf? Or taken by accident? Great shot! I would increase the contrast a bit and down grade the brightness :) IMO
