Two Facedby bvoiComment by moolacoola: i like it. i think it would even be better if you would have done a half/half. like the picture your holding was only half the face and the other have was inverted. just an idea. |

Two Facedby bvoiComment by JulieG: Good idea. Would also have worked well with only half a face in the small picture, so that half the face was negative and half was positive. Also without the black frame around the small picture might have been better imo. Still a good idea though and well executed. 8 |

Ballerinas in Blueby bvoiComment by JohnBeebe: Truly spectacular. I would not change a thing. The sense of anticipation and peering in is incredible. Degas would love it.
Thanks for the comments on the lines and crows.

Tell the Truthby bvoiComment by idnic: Greeting from the Critique Club.
This is a well-made portrait overall. The lighting style is aaaaaaaaaaalmost Rembrandt-style lighting wich is very flattering. The only nits I see are: 1- the model's pose is a bit uninspiring, even the expression is bland and doesn't evoke emotion as really good portraits will do. 2- the hair dies into the bg, I would avoid this by either adding a hair light or reflector to brighten her hair, or crop a bit tighter to do away with the very dark areas.
It looks like you have a good handle on controlling your lighting (though it does have a yellow cast as mentioned below), with some careful practice on posing you'll have stunning portraits in no time. Keep up the good work. |
