i like subtle frame a lot....... the trunk appears to be 1940's us army issue.... a feeling of nostalgia creeps over me looking at this - reminds me of my father's "loot box." from the same era, it too is covered with torn stickers and painted military designations ........the gentle amber atmosphere created by your light is so perfect for this......

I'm not saying this doesn't meet the challenge, but I would consider this to be more of a candid photo of someone, than a portrait. I would love to see a more intimate shot, more of a closeup of the young man.

I like the composition here, but the focus seems overly soft. Also, I wonder if the slant of the "horizon" (the table edge) should either be straighter or more dramatically slanted... The slight slant looks more "accidental" then "artistic"... Of course, that\'s just my opinion, and I\'ve been wrong before :)

Good photo. The case looks well loved. Perhaps you could have tried putting the case into context somewhere (wardrobe maybe) rather than cropping is so tightly - the crop makes it harder to identify because it has no depth.

Interesting eerie effect. Very moody. Of all the eye shots, this one is the most interesting to me. It's a little washed out, but I like it. Great composition too.
