Autum Leafby dr3amzComment by gaurawa: the dof seems too shallow for this shot. Were you shooting at F2.8 ? I wonder what if you shot this more perpendicular to the leaf surface, getting more of leaf in focus. |

Autum Leafby dr3amzComment by Jutilda: I really like this. The crop at the top may be a tad too tight. The rich colors and detail of the leaf are showcased well here. |

Beneath the arenaby dr3amzComment by srbrubaker: Super lighting and texture I love how the curvature of the space points to a spot outside the photo, but the stone walls hold the eyes within. |

Kaidenby dr3amzComment by SandyP: sniffle sniffle. . . what an amazing shot to say good-bye to your camera with!! This photo makes me happy to look at it. . .except it makes me sad that it's your last one.
I agree. . .I pray that what goes around comes around, and because of your sacrifice, you will be blessed with an even better camera before too long!

In a world of his ownby dr3amzComment by dr3amz: thank you emorgan :-) you summed it up nicely, the rule of thirds does not always apply - and in this case definately does not.
The image as you so rightfully put it, is about him, and `now` not where he was, or where he's going - just the dreamy childs world that he is in. |

In a world of his ownby dr3amzComment by Artyste: Originally posted by emorgan49: why not crop off some of the left? A centered subject is less dynamic than an off center one. We are less interested in where he has been (soace behind him) than where he is going (space in front of him). If he is off center it will appear more like he is moving along with those giant steps. |
I personally see this as being off-centered.. although closer to centered than not, but I like the spacing. Also, with the title, I'm not sure that I'm interested in where he's been, *or* where he's going, but instead.. where he *is*. Surrounded by vastness, alone, with time and endless decisions all around him.
This is why I like photographs like these.. so open to individual interpretation. :) |
