Day-13-slice-of-life.jpgby joynimComment by suemack: The fun and the giggles are the most important part of this whole challenge I think. They come through in this shot.
It would be pretty difficult to clone out the wires without losing the person ..... or at least part of the legs. Clone tool is in your toolbox on the left about the 5th one down. Has a stamp looking icon. |

2nd-Day-11-slice-of-life.jpgby joynimComment by SandyP: I'm fascinated about how personal birds get with people. I've never had one, or had the privilege of getting close to one, but I'd love to.
The only thing that works as far as getting rid of the wires is to wait until the bird is at the back of the cage, then put your camera right up practically ON the wires and zoom past them. But if the cage is too small, then you may not be able to do it because you will be too close, but I do that at the zoo alot. I use my zoom and put the lens right up on the cage's wires.
Good luck!!!!

Day-11-slice-of-life.jpgby joynimComment by SandyP: Awwwwwww. . . that proud face!!! Well worth any technical flaws! Sometimes, ya just gotta capture the moment and they don't always happen in perfect lighting.
But you can create a curves/levels adjustment LAYER, then on that layer, erase the parts you don't want "adjusted" and that way keep your sky as it was originally.
But like I say, this photo transcends technical perfection. The moment is perfect, and you GOT IT! :)

2nd-Day-11-slice-of-life.jpgby joynimComment by Alicia: Yes, Bill looks like the proverbial caged bird. But the gray cage wire works well with his plumage. I suppose they are not hand tame? Other than you putting the camera into the cage or taking the bird out of the cage I wouldn't have any wise ideas how to avoid getting the wires in the photo.
But that aside - love the photo and the story. Probably the more you talk to them, the more Ben will come around. |
