2013 PAW - Week 5by MarkBComment by bsluijk: The shots you posted have dragged us progressively deeper into the cactus. If you continue any further we might not be able to ever get back out again! Your background shows sensual colors and shapes, the stamen is a big contrast in texture, shape and "feeling". |

2013 PAW - Week 5by MarkBComment by Kroburg: Nice, love the shallow DOF in this one. Colours are great as well, any special lighting on the subject? I like to start making macros myself, will start with a reversed 50mm to try out a bit. But this Tamron looks like a good lens for macro photography. |

2013 PAW - Week 5by MarkBComment by Ann: Wow, nice. Love the detail. I find the same thing when I'm shooting strong reds, especially flowers and flamingos. Once I do the levels adjustment, the saturation goes to 11, and I have to dial it down to keep from blowing out the red channel. I like the saturation on this one, though. |

2013 PAW - Week 4by MarkBComment by ursula: Very close. Beautiful hot colours. On first impression, I found that the shapes of the pistils and the larger stem in the middle (the thing growing out of the middle of the pistils), seem to compete, because the skinny pistils have a left to right flow, whereas the large stem has a right to left flow. I hope that makes sense. They collide in a not so terribly beautiful manner at top right third. Not sure what to make of that thought. The light flows from left to right, and sort of abruptly stops at the right hand side of the picture. It might be a bit hot. I do like the outlines of the little ends of the pistils (I hope that's what they're called). |

2013 PAW - Week 4by MarkBComment by sfalice: Oh, look at those gorgeous colors! Great variation between sharp detail and background blur
makes this one a winner in my book. |

2013 PAW - Week 4by MarkBComment by bsluijk: You're getting deeper into this Christmas cactus every time. This starts to turn into an abstract by now. The highlights seem a bit blown and now no longer carry the characteristic color. |

Water Into Wineby MarkBComment by tanguera: A popular concept, but with expert, why did you leave in dust bunnies and that speck on the table to the left of the glass |
