Groveby james_soComment by Sirashley: This shot has an interesting and surreal sense to it. I like the overall mood and ambiance of the shot 8 |

Groveby james_soComment by bvy: Cool and warm, damp and dry, shifting and still. Beautiful everywhere. |

Groveby james_soComment by Jutilda: There are many blurred images in this challenge and most are leaving me cold. This, on the other hand, does not. I like the colors and the painterly quality. The juxtaposition between the trunks and the branches is nice, adding a sense of movement, almost. I can actually see this appearing in a gallery. If you stretched in on canvas, it would indeed look like a painting. I like that one "stroke" of white slightly off center to the right. |

Lettuceby james_soComment by bassbone: i can't put my finger on it but the lighting really gives the lettuce an unappetizing feel |

Lettuceby james_soComment by DiscoVader: With sharper focus at the top and more dramatic contrast I think would be a fantastic shot. I really like your subject. |

Lettuceby james_soComment by tanguera: LOL! Looks like someone's hair from the back. Sorry, but this lettuce seems awfully wilted to me... (not voting) |

Lettuceby james_soComment by geinafets: I don't know if it is the light or the BnW or if this lettuce is really wilted and dead. Either way, Weston had a way of using light to make the subject come alive and look incredibly lustrous, and, for me, you did not do that here. |

Lettuceby james_soComment by EL-ROI: This is good. Weston's cabbage shot was all about the form and the texture. Here, you got the form well but with a different perspective. Lettuce has a different texture which is shown nicely here being smooth and veiny with a sheen. One thing that sticks out is with the background being soooo deep black, the subject looks very two-dimensional. You got the light draping on the subject fairly well! |
