Shutter-speed-186.jpgby TroyMosleyComment by smilebig4me1x: I like this but i think its a bit too dark. I think thats a couple at the top of the mound judging by the shape. I would have liked to see alot more of them sitting there together.good muted sunset colors as it works for this one wonderfully.

Beach7.jpgby TroyMosleyComment by smilebig4me1x: I cant believe this gem has been sitting here all this time and NO ONE has commented on it. B&W tones look great and I love that you included thier footprints in the frame. It gives this a sense of where theyve been and where they are going together! Only nit pick on this one is the blown sky. maybe you can add a clouds and a blue sky and then desat it. just a thought on maybe completing this photo this way and of course...just my opinion

Beach-1.jpgby TroyMosleyComment by Louis: I like this picture better than the other one in your series. The shape of the boat is more defined and adds interest, and the portrait orientation suits the boardwalk that moves off toward the sky. Though blown, the sky is better defined, and the bokeh seems to work better here. Seems to be slight vignetting which adds to the effect. I like detail, so seeing more of the boat's bow, rivets, peeling paint, etc. would have made me like this even more. Good picture overall. Message edited by author 2006-04-01 23:14:06. |

Beach-2.jpgby TroyMosleyComment by Louis: This is a good picture because it hints at the subject matter and includes details (the blue border and rivets, the mottled white body) that are interesting. This picture doesn't entirely work for me because of the blown sky, behind a very busy background. The bokeh doesn't help this background; it might have if it were less bright. The angle also doesn't quite work because it looks less than natural. If you had exposed for the sky in the background and used a bounced or covered fill flash, this image might have been more effective. Pumping up the blue with curves could help too.
