I was actually on a bridge over the river -- the lines you can see are tracks from snowmobiles.

Your shot really impressed me, superb contrast!!

As for the specifics:

Composition
Great balance of the space, just a little of the bottom of the trees, and the rest on top.
If it were me (not sure if the place allowed it) I would get a lower perspective and a little more to the left, to have it perfectly centred.

Technique
Perfect exposure, amazing detail on the front elements (you have an extraordinary piece of glass on your 40D :)

Processing
Flawless processing here, the contrast between the original shot and the edited one just took this picture to a whole new level.

Congratulations or your personal best, and a score of 6.67 is awesome, a very good score indeed.

I didn't realize what I was looking at until I saw that truck on the left. That really puts into perspective the size of the scene you've got here. It's a lot bigger than I originally thought it was. Did you do any kind of tilt-shift editing to this scene?

I really liked this in the voting phase, still do. There was probably little you as a photographer could have done to make it better. I wish those lower limbs on the first couple of trees weren't there....I think that would have made it a cleaner image.
