ten after six? I'm sure you had a good idea here, but it's way over my head. If you are using photography to convey an idea, or illustrate a concept, it's not working when most of your viewers just say "Huh?"

Your technique is good, though.

Doesn't really work for me -- the subject is un-interesting -- the glare on clock and right side of image are distracting elements -- I don't get a sense of an era from the picture -- it could be now or it could be 1982

But it is not 10 after 6 right now. Of course it will be twice today, but that is not now, that is then.

I'm scorig you quite low for a few reasons. Please take these reasons as a representation of how to please or not please one voter (maybe more if I'm the only one willing to comment) One I have no idea what year you are portraying (by looking at the picture. Although you say "now" in your title, now is not a year and the hands on a clock have been around for a long time, which leads me to... Two, this clock is not something that would do well in a time capsule. It is like you are submitting a photograph to a corporate client hoping they will use your photo in their adds. They ask for a picture the distiguishes which a specific year. Would they select your photo over others. No.

*Greetings from Critique Club*

LOL - I just commented on this shot, but I'll try to be a little more specific. First of all, I think this met the challenge topic well. There's no question that it includes some interesting textures.

Composition
I like the angle of this shot and the perspective from the "ant's" point of view. However, I think that by cropping so that the tree trunk base is not in the dead center of the bottom of the frame, you could improve the appeal to viewers.

Lighting/Color
The lighting is a little harsh, but I think could be fixed with a little processing. The colors could also use a bump or two. I reviewed your profile & portfolio, and found that there are a number of shots that seem a bit overexposed IMHO. Most of them look like they were taken in the middle of the day (which can be pretty unforgiving when it comes to lighting as you probably know). You might try shooting more at daybreak or sunset to soften some of the highlight issues. (Just a suggestion - hope I'm not overstepping any boundaries or sound condescending, cuz I'm not trying to be.)

Overall
Like I said earlier, I think this has the potential to be a great shot - it just needs a little more work.

Just my 2 cents... :-)
