I am a total texture loving sort of person, but I keep wondering what this would look like without the woven sort texture going on here. For me it doesn't add anything to the image. Maybe a different texture confined more to the edges could work? I do love her peaceful demeanor juxtaposed with the vibrance and energy of the wings.

Great action, details and leading lines in this composition of a swimmer racing in the lanes. The splashing water gives a view of a freezed frame action moment and the swimmers arm and white line lead the eye to the top left corner where it is understood the goal is to finish the race in the best possible time. The grain, I feel, adds to the shot for their is a gritty rawness to this moment - you are brought right to the action as it happens in the here, in the now.
