ROPE!by lwphotographyComment by JunieMoon: As a shot depicting sucide choices, I liked the black and white choice, but the image didn't have the snap I look for. B&w takes a lot of practice because we see with color, not gray tones. Hope to see more trys with b&w from you. |

ROPE!by lwphotographyComment by Arcanist: Of the suicide images submitted, I found this one to be the most inline with the idea of a decision. Here, the image tells the whole story that the elements included have so well defined. The razors, the gun, the pills, all indicate methods of committing this decision to and end. More so the blurred action in the background, with the fallen chair grants us the glimpse into the final choice the capturing of the decision and it's end result. With or without this title, the image necessitates the inclusion of the keyword decision or choice.
I find the image disturbing in its commentary, which makes it an even better photograph. Some slight technical issues with the level of the table seeming to lean towards the left, however other lines indicate that the shot is actually level and the table is what really is not level. Would have liked to see the legs a bit off from center as the line straight up from all the elements seems a bit static. Otherwise a solid image for this challenge and worthy of bumping up to an 8. |

Arizona Sunset: Rays of Light Framed by Saguaroby lwphotographyComment by notonline: I guess it meets the challenge. Barely IMO but it does. However I find the frame and subject are not perportionate and there is more background the subject. I like the sun setting and the crispness/clarity of the silohouette but the unpreportionate sizes is to much. Good luck in this challenge. <6> |
