Did you see that?by simbambaComment by simbamba: Thanks for the many positive comments I was given on my entry. The photo was shot on a very gloomy day at the Amsterdam Zoo. Lighting conditions were bad and working with a long telephoto lens required high shutter speeds to avoid camera-shake. Furthermore, when seeing the Oryx̢۪s in this pose I had to close the aperture a lot to acquire the appropriate depth of field and hence I had to push up the ISO level to 800. Photographing against the sky I had to adjust the values with one stop to still be able to get some detail in the animals. This caused the sky to become washed out. Believe me, I would have enjoyed taking this picture on a sunny day in Africa but this had to do. The photo took some cropping and then some adjustment of the levels. I realize now that I also could have played around a bit with sharpening. |

Did you see that?by simbambaComment by Bibliophile: Cute! I especially like that they seem to be talking to each other about whatever's out of our view. The lack of background is the only thing that's distracting. It's just a little unsettling not to see something... perhaps that was your point. 9. |

Did you see that?by simbambaComment by ButterflySis: Bumping this from an 8 to a 9... I really, really like this shot. It's kind of abstract with the way that it's cropped, the way they all face the same way, and the curves of their horns. It may just be because of the resizing, but it looks to me like the focus was on the middle gazelle (?) because the two to either side appear a bit softer - just wish they were equally in focus.
Super job! |

Did you see that?by simbambaComment by JoelHSmith: I like it. Pretty funny. Too bad the sky wasn't blue. That would have complemented the animal well.... you don't control the weather..... so I give it an 8. (you're title made the pic in large part.) |

Did you see that?by simbambaComment by Tallbloke: I like this. The two open mouthed ...err "deer thingys" look like they are astonished with whats going on. Perhaps their pal has just been munched by a lion. This exactly meets the challenge, I want to know.....lovely composition too. |
