Watch the birdie and say cheeseby ShutterPugComment by ltlmschrisss: I love the background. I did not get to vote on this either. I will say that I don't feel that the detail in the wood takes away from the detail in the bird. They both look cool to me. I would have cropped the right up to the wood grain though. |

Watch the birdie and say cheeseby ShutterPugComment by bspurgeon: Nice image, better than mine which recieved zero comments as well during the challenge! I agree that at first glance, I'm drawn to the texture of the fence. If this was advanced editing, I think an curves adjustment layer(choose color negative) of the image after it was inverted would help bring out the eye (would need a mask of course...advanced editing rules I believe). Don't know for sure without trying. I gave this shot a 6 during voting. |

Watch the birdie and say cheeseby ShutterPugComment by Patrick_R: I like the use of bokeh and like was said before the wood grain is really neat. However, because the wood is soooooo sharp and defined by the white lines it draws the focus away from the bird because of his face being in his chest. Composition wise I would have lowered the fence from dead center to follow the rule of thirds line but its still nice the way it is. I'm sure this looks great positive but alas that would have been DNMC lol good work! |

Watch the birdie and say cheeseby ShutterPugComment by Denise: I'm somewhat new to this but since you've asked for comments, I'll give it a try. There is great detail in the wood and I think in this challenge, people voted high for detail. The DOF is done well. All I can see that is missing is color. Maybe a little more color would have made it more interesting and therefore may have scored higher, especially with the speed voters. |

Day 23 - Venus in the shellby ShutterPugComment by BeckyT: Awww this is really cute. I like the curves of the shell in combination with the strips in the cat. Great idea to use B/W tones. Composition and lighting is great. |

Watch the birdie and say cheeseby ShutterPugComment by SDW: I like your photograph. But I will say this. You have to look at it for at least 5 seconds for the bids face to become clear. For some reason it's blends together when you first open the picture but as the seconds go by it becomes clear. That to me is the only issue I see with the picture. Maybe voters didn't give the picture time, resulting in a lower vote. I did not get to vote but I would of given it a 6 possibly a 7 because of the composition and nice broken background. The focus is great and I really like the detail in the wood grain.
