Dandieby shanelighterComment by pamelasue: doesn't seem to have any totally desaturated parts to it ... blown highlights hurt this one also |

Junkyby shanelighterComment by Imagineer: Like this and I don't care why. A refreshing change to the quest for prefection perhaps. |

FallenHDRGrunge.jpgby shanelighterComment by glad2badad: This is an interesting thought. The thing that strikes me needing attention is the bright "halo" type area arching above the fallen building. The bright area with the rich blue sky and white clouds gives away the illusion you've nearly achieved with processing software. All JMO of course. :) |

Into The Sunby shanelighterComment by faery: I can only offer you my personal response (which is not at all in line with general DPC voters so take it with a pinch of salt)... plants as such lack drama. I gave you a 5 in voting it seems.... I think with a big challenge where the voter is flipping through 329 images, the ones that meet the challenge adequately, kind of fall into the 5 zone. If they have a certain amount of drama/interest they move up into the 6's. Excellent technicals and "story" end up in the 7's...Looking at your score spread, you got a few 9's and 7's which is great. Can't account for the dweebs that gave you 2's, 3's and 4's...
The very centre of the sun is very blown out and harsh on the eye. It's a pretty enough image and fits the criteria, but that's sort of where it ends...it's not saying anything special and it has that technical fault. Hope that helps and doesn't hurt too much :-( |

Into The Sunby shanelighterComment by Haneck: Hmmm, painful score there...I'm not entirely sure why it did so poor. I might suggest trying to get some more interesing composition, maybe. You could aso perhaps try to isolate a specific subject a little more - for example, next time try shooting just one branch in front of the light, and playing around with the composition. This has good potential though, I like the colors and the black shilouettes - it's a very interesting shot! :) Message edited by author 2007-04-17 20:50:06. |
