Nice composition and subject. This critter seems to impart an attitude with its pose. I would have liked a little wider dof so as to have the complete head in focus (body not necessary, but tip of nose to neck would have been super!). Enough for the picky details..... Great job!

Whoa! I feel like I could reach right out and feel the texture of this guy's ...well, whatever it is - skin, hide, horns, whatever! The lighting and composition on this are great. You've really managed to capture the "feel" of this creature so well. Very cool.

Well, I have to say first that I'm a sucker for reptiles and other herps, so you have a head start right there! However, I also really think that duotones bring out the texture of this lovely creature better than color could have, so it matches the challenge very well. Great lighting and composition really make this a winning photo in my book. I'm sure I'll select it as a favorite when the challenge is over. Best of luck!

5. Fits the theme well enough, and there are no blatant 'you suck!' flaws to it, but neither does it really grab me for any reason at all. For reasons of composition, cropping, or subject choice, it's just a photo, and doesn't do especially much for me, aesthetically.
