Under Hereby JRalstonComment by JuliBoc: I'd like it better if the whole image were in sharp focus. The foreground blur is distracting to me. I really like the composition. |

Under Hereby JRalstonComment by SteenM: I would really have liked to see the left hand and arm in focus too. Would be hard to do, but would be nice. I do like the light though. Very nice. |

Silent Tideby JRalstonComment by Ivo: Hi Jennifer. This is a nice effort but you had subjected yourself to some of the most difficult lighting out there. Do you focus on the rocks....then the water gets washed out. Do you focus on the water....then the rocks are too dark. You see what I mean? A good ND filter can help with this or use of the Gradient tool in Photoshop. It would have enabled you to darken the water and avoid darkening the shoreline. Hope that helps. |

Silent Tideby JRalstonComment by Melethia: I don't know that this needs more "pop" per se - sometimes a nice quiet picture is a nice quiet picture - like this one. Of course, that won't score well at DPC as a general rule, but that doesn't make it a bad shot by any means. A bit more sharpness as already suggested, and a slight "S" curve will add a touch of richness and clarity - try it and see if you like it. |
