All detail is lost, because of very very very bad compression. Your pic is 70kb, 150kb is allowed. This unneccesary, because it looks like a nice one.
But in this state it is simply very bad.

Aww...you wound up with a bunch of artifact. Probably happened when you had to stretch your picture to submit it for the challenge. That's what used to happen to me until I got my new camera. However, you did manage to get it into fairly decent focus. Nice color. All of our leaves have fallen off our trees now.

i would not have used the pic for candid, but the pic is a 7. The bottom wire is distracting and could be cropped. I love the bird on the transformer too.

I'm not going to bother with "Wildlife being candid or not"...I'll just explain why this particular one does not work for me. The concept, I can deal with...But, it would work much better if you had only the wire and the bird on the wire, without the light pole and the transformer in the photo. Also, I don't know how easy this would have been accomplished but...Get the silhouette of the bird bigger. It seems so tiny and non-interesting more as an afterthought instead of the main subject. At the first glance I noticed the color of the sky more than I noticed the bird, going for the light pole + transformer second...leaving the bird as my last subject of attention.

Really not sure what to make of this. Its not exactly candid in the usuall sense. Nice sky colours, but youve not made much use of the strong horizontals and verticals, nor have you used the large silouette of the pole to emphasize the birds smallness.

While I really like this concept, to me, "candid" requires people. 5 sjgleah

I think this is one of those shots where the original scene was breathtaking but it doesn't translate well into a photo. If it had been just one bird, and one wire silouetted agains that pretty sky it would have evoked a mood. And if there are enough pixels left, you could edit it. The electrical stuff on the left is just too heavy. the telephone pole leans in. The other little bird is way too close to the top and maybe he shouldn't be there at all/.
