Now I think everyone misunderstood here: the first impression is of an opening of light at the end of the tunnel - the cliche is perhaps doubly apt because of the use of it photographically - and the alighting of the eye on the number causes a wonderful disorienting shift in perspective, and does indeed produce the more ironic effect in the title. Fun image.

This self portrait of yours has been my personal favourite for as far as I can remember - and I cant believe I have never left a comment on it! So here I am, though a little late, but better than never, to leave a comment on this wonderful, fascinating, photo.

what do I like about this?
- the model: inviting, warm, and looked like he has stories to tell.
- the lighting: inclusive of the exposure, I'd say you've captured it well. Just look at the hair, and the face. Superb.
- tilted: it must have been accidental? but it works great. it somwhow makes the window-frame (naturally framed) stronger.
- editing: the desaturation is very very suitable, with a brownish hue. Love it.

this picture have that modern, futuristic feeling about. maybe it's the glossy glass, or the strong straight edgy lines, or maybe it's that number 30 on the bottom. The bluish tint on the glass also lend to the neon-like overall feeling. That's my impression looking at the photo, I'm not sure if that's the message you were trying to convey?

Oh, yes. It's everything except welcoming, isn't it? I deeply admire this sort of photograph; it's so much harder to find, capture and process than it looks. Architecture for masochists, maybe? Bravo. 9.
