[sarcasm]Oh geez, did we put 'failure' in the DQ description again? Stupid us.[/sarcasm]
JJ...amazing job. Not a failure at all. I certainly hope that you don't believe the words that are put into our mouths by people who do not understand. Editing or no editing, this captures a beautiful moment in time, one that touches many hearts and one that these people will remember forever as well.
Your edits are also amazing, drawing out this touching scene from the background, and really are what make this photo even more amazing. It may be too much for the challenge...but DEFINATLY not too much to make the photo great.
Congrats either way. |

A Brief Moment of Silenceby jjbeguinComment by Brad: Dang it's a shame this was disqualified, but I would like to extend a handshake for a couple of reasons, one of which I have already stated belong in my original comment after the challenge.
Two, for the way you have handled yourself in this situation. Class.
And three, for a congratulations on creating a masterpiece that could grace any fine magazine, hardcover book or be included in any piece of literature used in the course of teaching photography and the element of human emotion.
Bravo.

Not because of editing or if a pixel is out of place, but there are just too many Anal Annies running around here for me.
This photo is a beautlful moment captured and from the comments left, it struck a chord in most folks too.
Lighten UP around this place and you'll get more members.
I have made this one of my favorites despite what the SC deems as a ''failure''. |
Bosborne, I'd like to personally thank you for NOT renewing your membership. If you can't find it in your ethics to submit within site rules, you shouldn't be here. While this is a great shot, many more shots could be just as great with significant editing that is outside the rule sets that you agree to when you submit an image. Accept the rules or don't post. That's pretty easy. |

Time Outby jjbeguinComment by Judi: I would have liked to have seen a person in this shot. The pink gloves, however, does grab my attention and the textures and lines takes me around the entire image. This is my highest rating non-person image. |
