Still Bloomingby joannsComment by joanns: Originally posted by FranziskaLang: I really like this. The lighting is exquisite, very even, and everything's in focus. The black background contrasts the soft white petals nicely and I like that the stems are visible, but dark against the background. Adding this to my favorites. :) |
I just noticed your comment, Thank you! I didn't have this in my portfolio for some time and rediscovered it while going through some of my old stuff. It has become one of my favorite shots so far. Thanks again! |

Mt. Shuksan Panoramaby joannsComment by joanns: Originally posted by Sonifo: Wow!! I am impressed. You did an awesome job with the stitching. Very pretty shot! |
Thanks! Panorama Factory did all the work stitching but I was so happy with the exposure and the great light and clouds up there. |

Autumn at the Seattle Arboretumby joannsComment by joanns: Originally posted by Imagineer: You've captured the serene beauty of this scene very well indeed. I think it could have been improved only by allowing the top of the tree to be visible and widening the format to enhance the openness (if that's possible). Lovely. |
Thank you very much for you compliment. Unfortunately, I don't have the rest of the tree but I thought about faking the top of it by cloning in some sky. Thanks again! |

Mossby joannsComment by joanns: Originally posted by GeneralE: Looks a lot better than my last moss photo -- good job with the lighting and tone adjustments! |
Hi Paul. My moss looks a lot like yours. The difference is I cropped it tightly. In fact, so tightly that the image is too small to offer as a print (it got rejected). It looks great as a smally 4 x 5 print but really bad any larger. Moss facinates me since I came from a very arid climate - Utah - where this scene would never be found. |
