good portrait. it portrays an authentic attitude and emotion. heck, I would even say that it portrays thought. The "accessorized" hands give a hint at characterization but take second place to the position and tension of the hands.

this is a nice shot. the thing is in sports pix, if you have ever noticed on the sidelines, the cameramen with those huge, bulky lenses.

Nothing is absolute, rules are there to be broken, but normally in sports photography, the action comes to the frame of the camera, and not the other way around.

This is too busy. It reminds me of a parental picture of the sons team in action. A pro sports photog waits for the action to come to them. They find a bg that is good (ie, no lines, no advertising, no people if possible) and just wait. They usually have two or three cameras with them with differant focal lengths, and even an assistant.

If done again, try to get closer, make sure to include facial expressions, all limbs if possible, the ball, action, and the opposing team if possible.

It's too bad to me that this one isn't from a different angle. The action in the shot is good and it is nice technically, the thing taking away from it for me is the big logo on the wall in the BG. It makes the players and what they are doing hard to pick out.
