Nature Study by BrinComment by aliqui: The sky could have cooperated a bit more by letting in just a little more blue, but overall this has great balance. Beautiful location! |

Congratulations on 10th place in this challenge!
Great subject for the challenge, works really well, although I am wondering if this just happened to be out there in the middle of the countryside, or if you placed it there.
The composition is good, I particularly like the low perspective, but for me the processing spoils it a little. There is a rather unnatural look, I assume coming from the use of the shadow/highlight function. It leaves the sky particularly looking quite odd. Sort of like using tonemapping, but not to the same extent. (I know I never quite manage to get the sky right when using any kind of tone mapping/shadow/highlight adjustments).
I gave this a 6 during voting, because of the processing. Otherwise it would have been an easy 7 or even 8. |
Thanks a lot Sarah for your good comment. I took this shot in a little phototrip to the countryside. I found this old chair in a abandoned house and placed it there in the nature. When I came home I had a very short time to edit before I had to submit. Thanks again. |
