The Pianist by BrinComment by JohnnyPhD: Interesting portrait. The lighting on the left (his right) is well done although it does make it look like his jacket has two tones. His reflection in the top right is important for separating this from being just a picture of a guy at a piano. I don't quite understand how his reflection is being made, but that is probably a lack of knowledge about pianos on my part....7 nonetheless |

The Pianist by BrinComment by Dr.Confuser: Probably not the best execution of all the photos in the challenge, but of all the entries in the challenge, this feels most like a portrait and you've clearly caught a player in his environment. I especially like the composition. The top 2/3 of the frame form a square bisected by the strong diagonal. Catching the reflection is perfect. The bottom 1/3 gives us the context. Perfect. Well done! Best of show! |

The Pianist by BrinComment by JuliBoc: Terrific shot. The black and white is so appropriate for piano. The geometry and lighting of the shot are lovely and the reflection tops it all off, so to speak.:) And not least of all, the pianist is quite intriguing. 10 |

The Pianist by BrinComment by quiche: Clever. Wish this had been Advanced editing so you could do more evening out of the hot spots. Still a very nice shot. The angles & lines paired with the portrait are quite good. |

The Pianist by BrinComment by AP: nice stuff, i would love to see what you could do under adv. editing rules with this. Specifically, the difference in tones/contrast b/w the real/reflection slightly troubles me. Not much you could do about that tho! Still, great shot, 8 |
