Great capture. The tree in front makes the mountains seem so huge. Colors, light are right on. i wonder if using more than 85kb of the allowed 150kb would have made the tree a bit sharper.

Strong image. Something bothers me about the tree though, and I can't really explain why. Maybe it is just too big and dark while I would rather see something smaller to really accentuate the strength and majesty of the backdrop.

Note : Sorry this is so late... It's been a bad week :)

Composition : Strong diagonals and nice divisions... I like the balance between foreground, mountains and sky... Excellently done. The tree on the right is beautifully placed (although I know you didn't plant it).

Exposure : You picked a great time of day for this. The shadows add depth without distracting.

Focus / DoF : Wonderful.

Post Processing : I wonder what this looked like in color. Although that is not to say I don't like the duo-tone. I do, very much... I'm just curious what the color version looked like.

Challenge / Interest : No doubt about meeting the challenge. Even if this is in your backyard, this photo could be in a travel brochure.

My opinion : I didn't give many 10's this week, but yours was one of them. Excellent shot. Congratulations!

There's a real feeling of depth to this shot which I like.
The tree is probably taking up too much of the frame. I think a landscape ratio rather than square would have been better here, though I understand your wanting to use as much space as possible to show off this scenery.

Majestic mountains!! The tree nice and clear in the foreground (and not too close) and the mountains in the haze in the bkgd is a great contrast. The colors are well done. It lacks a little clarity esp in the foreground. You could lose a little in the mountains and I don't think anyone would know due to the haziness and distance. - Inspzil
