The only reason people didn't vote higher on this one was because it didn't scream perspective. This is only my guess because I think this picture is awesome. I will even add it to my small favorite list.

This is a really vivid, gorgeous shot. The dark tones and the fog in the background result in a very powerful feel. It may have looked better a little more exposed, but I think that it is probably better how it is.

The composition is excellent, the location is beautiful, the perspective from above is nice.

Depending on how the rest of the beach/sea looks, a wider angle may have been a little more effective. As it is, the frame feels just a little cramped.
