Go Bucks!by GermaineComment by StefanJSimons: The thumbnail of this really appealed, while the full size image is still cool there is something about the reveal that removes the myseterious nature of that incredible thumbnail. Love the random hand. Whats the overlay texture from ? |

Anacapa Passageby GermaineComment by Abra: Originally posted by Dennisheckman: Very minimalist image. I do like the movement of the water and the hint of white caps. The heavy vignetting reminds me of looking through an old seaman's spy glass. |
I was just about to say the same thing. I do enjoy the minimalism of this shot. |

Anacapa Passageby GermaineComment by MacDonald: As soon as I viewed this shot I remembered the Fisherman's prayer I used to have tacked up in my old boat. It was a 28 foot cape islander minus the sturdy shelter usually found covering the wheelhouse - I fished out in the Atlantic for cod using a Norwegian jig - anyway, this is the prayer and it seems suitable if one didn't know it was a drilling rig.
Fisherman’s Prayer
Dear God, be good to me; the sea is so wide, and my boat is so smallâ€Â¦
AMEN
I like how it's framed on both sides by land masses and the vast sky adds to the feeling of the boat being not much more than a spec. |
