My first thought on seeing this is "he's pasted onto the background". (That means I've been on DPC too long if that's the first thing I think.) It's a very impressive and striking photograph as indicated by your other comments. But to make this more "real" to me, you need to flip the background. Right now the sun is coming from the left in the background and the right onto the bird. Could be natural if flash is being used, but it still looks contrived when you try to reconcile the shadows.

Coming off a little soft and unclear. Looking at your file size of 137k, it is possible that you used too much compression. Such a detailed shot loses a lot of clarity to compression.
