Riverborn Reflection by inspzilComment by GreggeN: Wow, one of the better 'water reflection' shots this week - I particularly like the appearance of the coulds in the water. And you managed to pull off shooting into the sun - usually a no-no. Well-taken photo. 8. |

Naturally Decaffeinatedby inspzilComment by indigo997: *lol* Isn't it great when shots do better than you expect? This is just very creative and cute. Nicely executed. I would've cropped a bit lower on top and not showed the water line, but I guess you were trying not to cut the fish off. I'm also not crazy about the border.
This is a tough subject to light. Water, glass, shiny fish... not a good combination. You did fairly well although a little more even lighting would be nice - it would make the fish more visible and help with the colors.
You probably needed a faster shutter and higher f# as well. I think it would help with the focus and overall quality.
Poor fishys. I saw an awesome shot once of a fish eating a smaller fish. Have you ever tried shooting that? Sounds quite impossible to me, but I'm always happy to make impossible requests of other photographers :) |

Naturally Decaffeinatedby inspzilComment by karmat: Too, too, too, too funny. I really like how the one on the bottom is looking "at me." Great crop, maybe a bit too bright on the left, though. |

Naturally Decaffeinatedby inspzilComment by Annida: oh my, I hope you actually have a tank to keep these fish safe after taking the picture. It's a bit ... too full, honestly. Bah, I wish I didn't know this much about fish, but I do, and I have mixed feelings about this photo. I wish I could know that all of the fish are alive and well. |

Naturally Decaffeinatedby inspzilComment by magnetic9999: this is so cool! altho i feel sorry for the fishes, this is a startling and interesting image. I think the only think i would change is more light on the right side and increased DOF |

The Tridgeby inspzilComment by DougPaz: Greetings from the Critique Club };-)
Initial thoughts
Interesting composition and bridge, definitely meets the challenge, a touch off center.
Composition/ Content
Very nice capture of a highly unusual subject. I looked at this quite a while during voting trying to figure out exactly what the story was with this bridge. Never did figure it really. A good eye to find this. B & W works well but I would like to see what this "Tridge" looks like against a blue sky.
Technical
Focus seems good and contrast is excellent for the difference in light and shadow you have here. The background seems a bit busy but is beyond your control. The shot is just barely set up to the right a little. You may have been able to control this when cropping, but for this shot, it is pretty important. Processing seems good.
My Opinion On The Photo
I originally scored this shot a seven. I think that it meets the challenge well but could have been improved a just little to finish even higher than it did. Good job, and keep up the good work.
I would be happy to talk further about this shot if you would like to contact me.
