Chris In Parisby hotpastaComment by timfythetoo: Very nice. Your b&w work has been phenomenal. I look forward to the day that my son will be able to model proper for me like this rather than just being lucky and catching candid or snapshot type pics. Nice work - once again. |

The Horse and The Rider: Darren Gauciby hotpastaComment by geewhy: I thought that this would definitely ribbon and judging from the comments and the number of "after challenge" comments I wasn`t alone.
Really great shot and you can take consolation from the praise it has received.

Warm October Sun on The New Amsterdamby hotpastaComment by posthumous: For me what sets this apart from similar pictures is how dizzying it is. There seems to be three-point perspective on that building, creating a warping effect. The vertigo is enhanced by the strong shadows and dark areas. Finally, you have very interesting clouds, which is essential because all the lines are leading the eye up there. It's kind of like a city in a fishbowl, but I am inside the fishbowl and as small as a goldfish. It's unsettling, in a way that I like to be unsettled. As someone who's spent plenty of time in NYC, you've captured something essential about it. |

Chris In Parisby hotpastaComment by pineapple: Rainy days in Paris (and London too) are exceptionally lovely, in my experience. The muted colours, the sidewalk cafes and passers by all make remind me of paintings and romantic hours. Your son has a nice open face and his spirit comes over well in your photo. Though Paris is hardly visible in the photo, implicitly it is very much there. It's good to see your photos from your travels. |

Warm October Sun on The New Amsterdamby hotpastaComment by glad2badad: ...and it took you a YEAR to share this with us?! You must be as behind in post-processing as I am. :D
Many times I've looked up in NYC (trying not to look like a tourist) and have seen some tall buildings. You've captured that feeling of being small and towered over, and caught it at an exquisite time of day with that lighting! Impressive. |
