Distance & Lengthby SJCarterComment by Tranquil: Critique Club!!!
What a great score and a great placing a highly deserving image --- congrats to you!
I agree with all of the below comments and I truly think that there is very little to be improved upon in this image. Composition and perspective are both spot on and everything seems just well thought out. The tone is great and fitting and this is just a thrill for the eyes from the water to the spout of smoke off in the distance. Truly brilliant work!
The only real problem that I have is that this seems deathly oversharpened or overcompressed, which can be avoided and changed, and I think that that makes the image a little bit aesthetically unpleasing.
Obviously, voters and myself easily saw through that minor problem and you ended up with a whopping 6.5!
Great stuff, keep it up!!!

Nature's Melting Potby SJCarterComment by rasdub: This is my favorite of all your pictures. I love the moss and the silvery look to the water. Great composition and great job of really creating a beautiful image. |

Fireworks-1 07-04-05by SJCarterComment by rasdub: Fantastic crisp capture of fireworks. I traditionally like to see fireworks with some landscape to provide perspective, but you really did a great job with this one. Great framing!! |

Moonsetby SJCarterComment by rasdub: Wow, this is really fantastic. This reminds me of the type of scene you would see for a scary movie trailer. I can just see some flash site with a boat floating in the water and a fog horn going off with some thunderstorms rolling in. Very cool and skilled use of technology. |

Twistedby SJCarterComment by rasdub: Well, the colors and the form of the branches are the first things that jump out at me in this picture. I like how the branches all reach out to almost every part of the frame, including where you the trunks start in the ground. This would have been a good picture for the challenge, but it would also be really great for challenges with hidden letters. I already see a great "A" and "P" in this shot :). Great job with the PP...I need to improve in that area.

Twistedby SJCarterComment by amber: I really like this - there is a dreamy, fairytale quality about it. That green, it reminds me of something from childhood. |
