Blueby SJCarterComment by LindaLee: Though I am a big fan of high-key shots, I don't care for this one. I would love to have seen this as a more straightforward portrait. It's a nice tight crop, and the composition isn't bad, though I think I would have cropped even farther in on the right side.
This has almost an invisible man feel to it. I find the areas of red tones very "off-putting", and it seems kind of weird to see all those hairs floating around in space without really looking like they are attached to a face.

Nature's Melting Potby SJCarterComment by jpochard: Wonderful job on this one. I would like to see a little more dodge/burn to add some interest to the lighting, but 7 out of 200 tells me that it's certainly great the way it is as well. This one would make a nice print. |

Luna Mothby SJCarterComment by jpochard: I thought I had already commented on this one a long time ago...but I don't see it.
This is, I think, my very favorite of your shots. For just a slightly processed, great-out-of-the-camera shot...this one is it. Composition and crop are thoughtful and very appealing. I love the diagonal. Focus, colors, and textures are all spot on. You've really made this into a first rate nature shot, bringing out the beauty of the creature. |

24kby SJCarterComment by jpochard: I like this idea and the golden tones, but the overall photo looks a bit fuzzy to me. I'd like to see this with more clarity. Looks like a great spot to sit and shoot different compositions. |

Greyledgeby SJCarterComment by jpochard: What a beautiful spot. The colors just grab the viewer here. It just has that feel of one of those perfectly clear days when you can see just about forever. I love the clarity and simple lines here. I might be tempted to see how it would look with cloning out the branches in the upper right. |

Twistedby SJCarterComment by jpochard: Lovely lighting brings out the feel of depth to this shot. A great example of how to create a great photo from a somewhat average location. Nice composition and exposure, and just a touch of softness is perfect. Nice job. |

Rainbow Fallsby SJCarterComment by jpochard: This would be awesome for a "fantasy" type challenge! I just love looking at this. It's a feast for the eyes. Creativity and a little (okay, a LOT) of PS is a wonderful thing. |
