RR Bridge @ Indian Rockby SJCarterComment by AzCKelly: Interesting picture. It has a certain old/rundown look. There is a lot of texture to pull the eye away from the subject. Try cropping the bottom up to the area where the rocks are across the water. That would leave you some grass but no too much. Then try bringing it in from the left just a smidge. The bridge would be in more of the picture then. I really like it. Reminds me of family vacations when we drove across the states. |

Keine Lustby SJCarterComment by jpochard: I agree that it does have a somewhat metallic look to it. I rather like it depending on the mood you're trying to convey here. It looks somewhat harsh and rude...like you don't give a flying **** about our opinions anyway! LOL I'll bet it would also be interesting to try different color tones with it. I think I might like a bit more details of the background to stand out. Cool and different idea. |

James River from Indian Rockby SJCarterComment by jpochard: Wow...if you can go back and fix the halo or whatever that is around the lower part of the ridge, this will be really great. I'll bet this is even more impressive in a larger size and resolution. The time of day and colors are captivating. Beautiful scene, Jimmy. |

James River from Indian Rockby SJCarterComment by tonyv: The best of the three. Great colours, nice angle for the reflection and just enough foreground to give a sense of depth. As already mentioned, there is a problem just below the clouds. |

RR Bridge @ Indian Rockby SJCarterComment by jpochard: I'm not crazy about this one. Perhaps if I had been at the location, this would capture a feeling of being there for a memory - but for me as simply a viewer, it carries no real wow interest. I think the tone of it doesn't help as I think there may be some interesting colors to help add interest. Hope this helps! |

Keine Lustby SJCarterComment by alfresco: Very interesting photo. I don't know how it would have done in the What? challenge ...
Non-what challenge take on the photo:
Interesting. Interesting tones, interesting textures. Almost looks like on-board flash, and it works for this photo. The pp hues and tones give a surreal quality, you look rather ... metallic.
Without knowing this was inspired by a band my first thought was - "This would make a cool album cover"
(When I scanned the title I thought it said "Kleine" instead of "Keine", which doesn't change the title enough to warrant commenting on it, even if you speak german - but I'll comment on it anyway)
I like the expression coupled with the PP - almost a forlorn look.
Nice photos all - well done.

RR Bridge @ Indian Rockby SJCarterComment by mystical_princess: Ok, First I love the processing, but for me the whole shot is too busy. I'm having trouble focusing in any main thing, which sadly I think maybe because of the processing which I love so much. |

James River from Indian Rockby SJCarterComment by rjkstesch: Beautiful colors and reflections. I like the feel. The sharpening works very well for most of the image, except along the edge of sky and mountain where it left a white edge. Good shot. I agree with alfresco about the dark area on the right. The shape adds, but the lack of visual info doesn't. It's still a strong image. |
