Best Manby SJCarterComment by Sterling87: I guess a best man is good...but if I just look at the picture, it tells me nothing. It's just a distinguished gentleman wearing a pinstripe suit and a badass tie with a boutonniere on his lapel. |

Shenandoah Valleyby SJCarterComment by Melethia: It is indeed a gorgeous part of the country. The lower valley may have a tad too much yellow to it for my taste - I find that's an issue with HDR/tone-mapping using Photomatix, and haven't yet found a way to get around it. I do like the view! |

Just Me - XXIIby SJCarterComment by Melethia: I quite like this one. Very real, and very good. Love the eyes - you have amazing eyes, be they in color or black and white. And I do like it so when you smile! |

Best Manby SJCarterComment by Fromac: You'll get this a lot on this shot...a tighter crop would have worked better. Otherwise...you've captured his expression well, and the slightly OOF background pulls the subject out nicely. |

Shenandoah Valleyby SJCarterComment by jaysonmc: I think you are going to get this quite a bit in the comments, so I just point out the bad in a quick list. Too much staturation, centered horizon, too much contrast, and the staturation doesn't not seem to be even across the frame (blue on one side green on the other).
Now I will expound on the good points:
Very nice dynamic clouds going on here, they fill the top of the frame nicely.
This looks liek a great study on color, just tone it down a bit and it would really sing.
I like the lines and patterns with the mountains, farmland, and forests. It gives a good texture. The rolling hills and distance clouds also give good depth to the photo.
I'm curious what the original looked like. Still not a bad landscape just a bit over processed. |
