Wonderful subtle colours and tones captured here. I feel that the composition lets it down though... the ratio of negative space to subject seems haphazard and not thought out. Perhaps a tighter crop? 8

This could be a very nice shot but needs to be lit better. Love the textures in the center where you have contrast between the light colored petals and the darker shadows! I'm still trying to learn about lighting so I don't have any good suggestions here...

Very nice closeup of the cat - I love the detai and the textures of the fur shown. Are there two of them though? The shadows make the eye on the right seem like it belongs to a second animal. Also, I don't really get a feeling of solitude or loneliness from the image, though I think it fits the challenge in general. Still a good capture. 6

This is a gorgeous shot but I don't quite understand the relation. Are you talking about how the mountain lion is a solitary creature by nature? I guess it works. Where did you go to get that close?
