by MephistoComment by cgino: A very compelling story and set of images. The stance of the fellow in the left image conveys, I don't know, something like his resignation to his fate. This serves to remind me to appreciate what I have... |

state of mindby MephistoComment by citymars: Not sure if I like the faded / washed-out look, but I respect your choice. Cool triptych and nicely unconventional. |

by MephistoComment by karmat: I really like the high contrast bw that you have used. It helps to set a mood/tone ro something. Nice work. |

by MephistoComment by Mephisto: Originally posted by citymars: I hope you are careful when shooting in an abandoned building! |
This location is actually quite safe to visit, there's no security, not even a fence you have to climb to get in, the buildings are mostly stable and the rooms brightly lit (except for this one...lol). It's become quite a "tourist" spot for photographers or people who call themselves urban explorers so you'll always step into someone when you're there.
However there are abandoned sites (and especially the trespassing ones) that are quite dangerous due to rotten flooring, unstable architecture, asbestos or goofy people you don't wish to meet in such a location...;)
Not to mention the risk of being caught by some security when you're trespassing.
I usually wear hiking boots for precaution and carry a strong maglite, a mobile and pepper spray (just in case) along with my camera and an open eye for holes in or glass/nails on the floor.
Thanks for all the nice comments everyone! |

state of mindby MephistoComment by cgino: The filmstrip overlay is very cool, what a great way to separate the series! The images are each very emotive and quite powerful as a collection. The milkiness is wonderful, reminds me of glass plate photography. |
