Jumping freeby MephistoComment by pineapple: Nice one indeed. A surreal never-to-be-repeated moment. I'd have been sweating up on that high board. |

Jumping freeby MephistoComment by tnun: Quite wonderful. Can spend a while looking at it. (Downsizing and sharpening perhaps didn't do it any favours - don't mean the blur but the edges of his torso and legs). |

Jumping freeby MephistoComment by nixter: This is a great perspective, and I really like those two wet footprints on the platform. : ) |

Jumping freeby MephistoComment by posthumous: brilliant mixture of sports and iconography. I've never seen this, or rather I've seen this many times and never knew I was seeing it until you showed me.

fadingby MephistoComment by Mephisto: Originally posted by trevytrev: Question, how are you achieving the tone in these shots, what methods? Is it lightroom, PS with due-tone? |
at first i basically use the black&white adjustment in phsCS3. i'm trying all the color filters and go with the one i think gives the best gradient, contrast and tones. then i use a gradient map on soft light mode to get the nice warm tint and a nice contrast with dark blacks. after that i did curves adjustment to finally get the perfect contrast. on this one i also did a second curves adjustment with a mask to brighten the dark corridor on the left.
but having all that said, the key to the tones of this shot is the lighting, as the sun was setting, providing that beautiful warm and deep light.
hope that helps :) |
