Photo---3yellow-spider.jpgby gwendyComment by Imagineer: Wonderful creatures, spiders. This one is great. The flash has killed some definition though so a tripod or very steady hand would be better so that you can use natural light.
- Just realised there may be no flash - so moving lower would avoid the abdominal highlights.

Photo---3yellow-spider.jpgby gwendyComment by dsa157: I love the look of the spiky leaf with the yellow flowers petals behind to complement the yellow abdomen of the spider. nice tones and details, although the hotspot on the abdomen is a little distracting. |

Photo-126birdbath.jpgby gwendyComment by RayEthier: I find the amount of shadows in this image very distracting. A different DOF and faster shutter speed may have improved this image greatly. I do hope your feathered friends return for another visit, and that you can get another clear shot at these beautiful birds. |

Madeline's Ponyby gwendyComment by Neuferland: Have to comment on the horse picture! Lovely pony there, I love their shaggy manes!
A very nice shot overall and the conversion to black and white works well here. Just a few things bother me about the overall shot. The little girl doesn't look very happy for some reason, expressions are big to me in shots like this. Even is she wasn't smiling, her eyes still tell me she's bored and wants this to be over with. Maybe a shot with just the horse might do better, she ends up taking away from the friendly feel with her expression and I'm sorry if this hurts your feelings, I know what it's like to have kids who won't co-operate sometimes. As for the horse, very nice, bit of hay in his forlock there and he'snot really interested either. Just staring off, waiting for something, anything, I'm not sure what. I love shooting horses but one of the biggest pains is getting and keeping their attention for any length of time, even seconds! They can be as finicky as cats sometimes! a 7 |
