DSC_98371.jpgby nomad469Comment by BlackDot: I like this one second most. Especially the hair light.
Very spontanious, Two things I don't like is the model's nails, and the black rat's tongue up her nose.
Looks like Fun! |

Mandi1.jpgby nomad469Comment by SJCarter: I agree about working on the pose itself. The lighting looks pretty good, but seeing someone's underarm is not necessarily very appealing to a lot of people. Yes, it can be inconsequential, but not when you can see razor stubble. Not trying to be harsh here at all, just letting you know my first reactions. When you're shooting with models (and please understand I am NOT good at capturing people) I've always thought that you need to capitalize on their best features or capture pure emotion. I'm not sure this particular pose does either. I think your model is quite attractive and has some wonderful qualities that you might consider concentrating on more (and some less). For example, I think she has great eyes (although the makeup from this angle looks a bit overdone), a nice smile (although the crooked front teeth would be less noticeable from another angle), great hair (but the lighting on the top is a little harsh), and beautiful skin (although, as I said the whole underarm thing). Just my 2 cents... |

Mandi1.jpgby nomad469Comment by downtherabbithole: I would work on the pose a little mabey use a hair light and something to soften the lines on her face. If you can reshoot it I think if you took it from the other side it would look a lot better. There is some weird shadow across her face and on her hair on the right side. I think if you move the light source farther back it would help with harsh shadows and the low contrast levels. Watch how you convert it to black and white, there are many ways to do this is some work ALOT better than others. I like the model though and I like the vission you have for this shot, just change those few little things and it will "snap". Have you shown this shot to her yet? I bet she will love it |
